Apprenticeships

     How to begin the journey

The first step to becomming an apprentice is to attend a guild meeting and rank up to Recruit. After that, simply find someone of one of these ranks:

  • Master

  • Legate

  • Exemplar

  • Sub-Officer

  • Unit Commander

  • Invictus Roi

Once you've done this, simply "pledge" yourself to them in game. Usually kneeling and saying something like "I pledge to be the sword at your side" will do, but it depends on the master. Anyone can accept or deny an apprenticeship. If they've taken an interest they can ask you to be their apprentice, and you can accept or deny too. If you become apprenticed, please notify Invictus Roi or a Unit Commander so they make take a note of it.

What to know before you begin

There's a few things you should know before beginning. Simply read over this quick list to get an idea of what apprenticeships entail.

  • They normally last 2-3 weeks

  • Your master can only give you commands IC, not make you do dailies etc for him/her/it.

  • After you finish, you can take your own apprentices.

  • If they want you to wear a uniform, they must provide and you musst approve. Otherwise you may wear what you want.

  • If needed, you can quit an apprenticeship mid way, but will be put back to recruit. If you feel this unfair, please contact me and explain the circumstance.

  • The apprenticeship will be known by everyone IC, but wont know details.

  • At meetings you stand by your master

  • Must rp with them at least once per 4 days.

How it works

The entire point of apprenticeships is to get newcomers acquitted with the guild rp, and give older members a fun way to rp with the new members. Once you go through the program you can take your own, up to a maximum of 3 people with Legate (4 with Exemplar)

While the program slightly changes, here are the minimum requirements:

  • One on one Rp for at least 2 weeks. Must rp at least once every 4 days, and must have at least 10 rp sessions to graduate to Master.

  • Don't violate any of the apprenticeship rules

  • Promote to commander and then master at an appropriate time, cannot promote from commander straight to master. At least wait 4 days between promotions

  • Make sure they will be able to take their own apprentices, and have enough of an rp backstory to do so.

  • Have some sort of rp story for the apprenticeship. Doesn't have to be anything complicated or written down, just make sure you have something to say during rp

  • Come to at least one meeting together

Besides that, the ranks are given as follows:

  • Lieutenant: Given when first apprenticed

  • Commander: Given around the halfway point, when the Master feels acquainted/confident with the apprentice

  • Master: Given at the end of the program.

For the rp, I would suggest incorporating the following:

  • Queting together while rping

  • Duel at one point, rp about combat training etc

  • Incorporate non combat trainng

  • Rp outside of the strong hold

  • Learn eachother's backstory

  • With with other guild members, while acting as master and apprentice

  • Try to change each apprenticeship to fit the apprentice

While your master cannot order you around OOC or make you do uncomfortable things IC, it's important to remember that they also oversee the apprenticeship and decide how you progress. If you believe they are acting unfair or violating the rules contact me, but also try not to go againt every thing they say.

  •    No commands OOC, or ones IC that make then uncomfortable

  • Do not violate eachother's stories, or try to dictate your apprentice's story

  • No romantic or sexual relationships during the apprenticeship

  • Apprenticeships have to be recognize/noted by an officer/Invictus Roi before it begins. The day they rank up are the day it officially starts.

  • Must rp one on one, only rping during guild events or meetings do not count

  • When done, have a basic story ready. As long as you both know it (Doesn't even have to be a paragraph) that's fine. Sending to my email would be appreciated.

  • If you want anything done during the apprentice to be publicly known, publish it under the forums.

  • Make sure you treat eachother with respect OOC, if you're strict during rp that's fine, but if you can't work together well, then don't
